It"s a debate that"s been going on for years amongst the RV community. I did drive our first RV without but, maybe cos" I"m chicken, I decided to take and pass my HGV. It"s given me the peace of mind that, I know, wherever I drive, I"m legal. However, it does show that the various agencies that govern our road use are pretty stupid....

All I know is that if you hire one in the US or Canada you can drive them on a car licence.

without reading the story on the link I would have thought that once you go over a certain weight you need to have a licence to cover you for that weight of vehicle.

My son is taking the lgv test to drive my van as it is over 3.5 tonne.
Insurance companies need a copy of valid licence.
