HI folks
Going down south in Europe but now taking a detour through Belguim/Holland. Bless the wife ! !

My Camperstop book says that wild camping is forbidden but I'm sure I read somewhere (or made it up) that you can camp in restaurant/pub car parks for the price of a meal/couple of drinks. Any experience/advice.

Thanks. Happy wilding

I have only the experience of one trip in Belgium in 2010.

We were there for an event I was participating in and stayed in a campsite.
I did see three motorhomes in the car park of a restaurant we used for a function and noticed they were still there the next morning. I have no idea if this was allowed as part of our event of if it was normal practice.

The campsite people were very nice.
It was in De Haan outside Oostend and only a short tram ride into the city.

Hi,
I haven't wild camped in Holland but I've used aires in Belgium. There's a nice aire near the centre of Tournai which is a beautiful medieval town on a lovely river (UNESCO town). We also stayed in an aire in the hilly (Yes really ) region of east Belgium on our way to Germany. It was in a sunny spot beside a river used for kayaking in the forest area and a 10 minute walk to the sweet little village of Herbeumont.
I found a list of these and other Belgian aires online. I think it was a Belgian Tourist Office site but I may be wrong. Probably worth a google search anyway.
