Hi, A BIG THANKS to Ally and the team for helping me out. Had a few issues prior to log in. Then as soon as I logged in I was so excited I tipped my tea on the desk, I'm glad my holiday starts tomorrow. I am not having the best of days I don't usualy have much trouble but today I'm trying to juggle too much. Anyway I arrive in your beautiful country tomorrow and look forward to a happy tour of 17 nights. I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the points of interest, I have not seen them yet as I wanted to say Hi and Thanks first.

From RUGI

Hi thanks for the offer Chevy g20 and Blag, the intention is to arrive at Rosslare, turn left then keep the sea on our left till it's time to go home.
Will deviate for the ring of Kerry and anything that seems like a good idea maybe Blarney. Over the last several years we average 56 nights away each year with only one or three being inland. It will be a mix of sites and wild/free camping/parking as we did in Scotland during a few trips and the Outer Hebrides. However I'm very open to top tips or ideas.

I like your plan, sounds like a solid one!

Staying off the N25 is a good idea. Although its a great road for making way, you see very little of the country on it... Immediately after you get off the ferry in Rosslare, you are within spittin' distance of some very nice scenic coastal roads. I dont know what size van you are travelling in, but unless its a 40ft american RV, you should be fine on the coast road from Rosslare to Dungarvan at least.

Don't forget to stop up for breakfast at Hook head.. Lovely spot for a break from driving (or a spot of overnight parking).

Also on the road between Dunmore East and Dungarvan, there are some lovely little beaches to explore. This road is known as the "Copper Coast Road" in memory of the disused copper mines dotted along its route. Keep an eye out for the roads branching to the left as you drive from East to West along the coast road. Just "follow your nose" as my dad would say. Some of these beaches are not signposted, but they are real gems... If you're into geology, you'll find some very interesting and unusual rock formations. coastal erosion has uncovered prehistoric lava flows and whatnot. I'm not into geology myself, but my daughter is... I'm learning as I go...

You're a subscribed member to MHcraic, so you can gain access to the POI's which are a great list of points of interest and wild camping locations. An extremely handy resource for what you have in mind...

Have fun!
