Hi, I recently got a very bad "Trojan" on the Lap Top. If you get one of these and they ask for payment-- DO NOT PAY--- as they will empty your card or bank account! Take the p.c. or lap top to the Computer shop and they will remove it.

Dave.

Hi, All. the lap top repair shop put malware on for me. I had "Avast" but this trojan just pushed through the defence.

Avast is a virus checker....... best to have... 3 forms of protection

Virus checker such as Avast

Firewall - popular one is Zone Alarm

Malware protector - malwarebytes

Of course there are loads of others but those are the most popular.

I found Microsoft Security essentials that comes with win7 very good.

I also use the Microsoft security and have not had a problem, I did in the past have major problems with avast letting a virus through, but malware bytes sorted everything out. As a matter of interest what did the computer shop charge to fix the problem for you.

I got sick of windows always having viruses that I switched to a Mac, and if i want to run any windows software. I just use a Vitural Machine Drive such as "Parallel Desktop" or "VM Ware", or have windows ISO Image on a cd and just pop it in.

You tend to get less viruses that way. :-)

Just heard from my stepson and he got it as well, his took a picture from the built in webcam and accused him of looking at kiddy porn and wanted £100. The picture was of his 2y/o son watching fireman Sam, he used malware bytes and cleared it himself. It's a good reason to go to the dark side and use a mac
