I am not sure if anyone is aware of the great motorhome park in Newcastle Co. Down. Run by Terry and Ann.

We used it a few times before thay had problems with road services because of their entrance. To be honest I don't see a problem with it but they have been asked to stop trading until it is sorted.

They inform me that there is a meeting in 2 weeks which they hope will finalise everything. They also plan to open in the winter months..

Their website is http://www.mournemotorhomepark.co.uk/

Well worth a look.

It is a great base for walking in the Mourne Mountain as it is about 5-10 minutes walk from Bloody Bridge Car Park.

Try ROI.

Worse than the north.

We are getting a pint and a barcardi and coke in Kilkenny for €11

We still love it there.

Handy.

We saw a guy in benone one weekend with a massive American RV. He had a massive garage which was open. There were 3 cases of champagne in it.

Nice

I am volunteering for Oxfam in September for the weekend. One of the shifts is in Newcastle, going to give them a ring.

Hi Mark, Thanks for the info on Mournemotorhomepark. I am soooo pleased I have somewhere now to stay in Newcastle...was caught-out staying over at Murlough Nat Trust ...was celebrating a full moon and just couldn't leave...had nowhere else to go. Hopefully Terry and Ann will soon get the all clear to re-open.

No probs Bronagh

I hope to hear from them soon.

It is a steep drive to the pitches but very nice and very quiet.

There are views of the Isle Of Man on a clear day..

I would suggest to stay away if there is any ice.
The drive is very steep as it is on the foot of the mountain.

Ta!

Had an accident two years ago in a 4wd car in the ice, don't fancy sliding in a 3.5 tonne vehicle!

Nope. Nothing yet.

I don't like to hound them. They have said they will call once it is sorted.

Was at Bloody Bridge Tuesday the esteemed one who must be obeyed saw the roadside sign and as usual was right "I bet its a motorhome park" dammit she's right again. I'm going to stop having an opinion 🇧🇭 🇧🇭 🇧🇭 🇧🇭 🇧🇭

Thanks Mark for the heads up.

Hi Mark

Have been keeping my eye on this one with interest, we met a guy in castlewellan in August 2010 and he told us about this site, we have tried it several times and it is always closed. I did get to speak to the girl and she told me about problems with the council (or planning) she did email and told me she would keep me posted, but i never heard anything further. It is a great location and the views from some of the spots would be brill. I think the guy in Castlewellan that we met had stayed there and said there was a pathway from bloody bridge into Newcastle.

Hopefully they get everything sorted.

That could have been me in Castlewellan as I did tell quite a few people around that time and not too many people have stayed there.

Ann and Terry are great and I hope it all works out for them.

It has no parth to Bloody Bridge but is an easy walk along the road to it.
Terry did plan to put a style over his back wall on the mountain but that isn't done yet.

We used it as a great base for hill walking..
