Prompted by Viktor's Loop head post...

We've been to Hook head in Co Wexford several times over the past 12 months. Each time we were there, we noticed quite a few motorhomes camped along the peninsula. Seemed to be a popular spot for weekenders. No facilities nearby but plenty of scope and space for a few days of wild camping...

Nearest shop is in Fethard, about 5 miles away from hook head. No pubs nearby so you would need to supply your own adult beverages and entertainment...

Beautiful spot to watch the sunset...

While I was looking at the google maps street view to give y'all some coordinates, I spotted this quirky little motorhome parked up at the very tip of Hook head. Complete with surfboards mounted on the roof...

It's got character, that's for sure! 8-)

I was there 2 weeks ago in the sunshine lovely cool breeze and sunsets, its also a great place for snorkleing or diveing and whales have been seen jumping out of the water off shore earlier this year

A great site to visit and if you go to the website and click on WEBCAMS you can see how many motorhomes, are there and if the water is calm before you go down

Next weekend as part of the "Gathering 2013" there is lots on with and the marques are up already.

A group of us used to go to the Hook Head on a regular basis a few years ago, we were so well known that the locals christened us the Hookers Club,,, never knew whether this was a good thing or not but we and the locals often had some great banter and laughs over the name they gave us. They used to even get requests played on Radio 1 on a Saturday Night on the Neil Toner Bluegrass Show telling everyone the Hookers were out in the Hook. Happy Days Indeed.

We were over at Hook Head again yesterday. What a beautiful evening. The sea was a bit rough, and it was lovely to just sit there and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks. Quite a few motor homes parked and enjoying the area. Even one or two tents had set up...
