Bailey launches all-new motorhome range

Ireland's only Bailey main dealer - HAGANS Motorhomes

After just two years making motorhomes, Bailey of Bristol, has taken the industry by storm after it launched the first drop-down bed in a low-profile motorhome built by a British manufacturer.

The new coachbuilt motorhome is part of a new line-up called the Approach Autograph.

These new Autographs are immediately recognisable from their forebears thanks to their black (graphite) Peugeot cabs.

Under the bonnet are 2.2-litre 130bhp diesel engines coupled to a manual six-speed gearbox as standard. Drivers and passengers benefit from cab air conditioning, adjustable swivel seats with twin arm rests, dual airbags and cruise control all as standard.

These cabs are mated to a lower and lighter Al-Ko chassis, while a re-style of Bailey's Polar White Alu-Tech bodyshell features a neater low-line luton and a re-designed rear with new lower moulding, as well as new graphics. New underneath is a wind-down spare wheel carrier.

A series of simulated crash tests last year led Bailey to introduce strengthening modifications to the floor and furniture in the habitation area to improve the safety of rear seat passengers. These safety modifcations have been carried through into this new range of coachbuilt motorhomes.

There are five low-profile models in the Autograph range:
625 – Rear lounge, low-line two-berth, which replaces the current Non-Fixed-Bed Motorhome of The Year
740 – Four-berth low-line with rear French bed layout with parallel settees up front
745 – As 740 but with half-dinette travel seats, making it a true four-berth
750 – All-new continental-style layout with high-level rear twin fixed single beds over a garage
765 – Replaces the overcab 760. Features front pullman dinette and rear U-shaped lounge, as well as a unique electric drop-down bed over the front dinette, making this a six-berth with six travel seats

Specification has been upgraded across the range, to include:
A105Ah Banner leisure battery (now in an underfloor compartment with space for a second battery)
New double-skinned floor construction
A new opening skylight over the cab
Alde radiator central heating with digital control panel
Kitchens now come with a Thetford Caprice cooker with mains hotplate
Showers have an energy-saving EcoCamel showerhead
100-litre fully insulated fresh and waste water tanks
Inside, the Autograph has new cabinetwork with duo-tone doors, high-gloss worktops and new ambient lighting. There’s a choice of Trafalgar or leatherette Piccadilly fabrics, each with reversible scatter cushions.

A narrower, shorter pair of Approach Compacts will follow in time for the October NEC show.

"With the introduction of the Approach Autograph range, the Bailey motorhome really has come of age," the company said at the launch. "Featuring a level of refinement which only experience can bring, the new range benefits from enhanced specification levels, a striking new look beoth inside and out, whilst at the same time retaining the popular key elements of its predecessor."

They look very nice but I am not sure about the sink in the shower.
I suppose it might be better in reality.

I liked the bed in the first one too.

The standard ones are a nice van and the autograph range pushes them up the ladder so to speak, but still a bit lacking in the quality department compared to my own. Would I consider buying one? Yes but would need to get one with the door on the correct side

Very nice motorhomes if they weren't built on Peugeout/Fiat cabs. I would still rather have my Adria Vision.

nice van, the 765 Autograph, would suit us perfectly but the only problem............

where do you put all your stuff??? chairs etc

there only seems to be a small rear locker which doesn't look very wide, why could they not include a locker on either side for storage below the rear lounge?

That's a good question which I'm sure will never be answered until next years model comes around and they will hope the price up a £1000 quid. After all you thought about it and will get nothing.

Bailey has reached a major manufacturing milestone as its Alu-Tech construction system celebrates its fifth anniversary.

To date 25,000+ leisure vehicles (motorhomes and caravans) built using this technology have rolled off the production line.

The Alu-Tech construction method uses interlocking aluminium extrusion external framework which clamps the body panels together.

All timber components, traditionally used in the sides and roofs of motorhomes, are also replaced with a composite plastic internal skeleton and a GRP inner wall lining to limit the impact any possible water ingress may cause.
