lol! Just seen this today!

Thanks for the welcome!

Little bit of info about my family and our van:

We are from West Cork and we have just bought our first camper, a 1991 Ducato Dethleffs Globetrotter. Nice and handy size for the small roads but big enough for the four of us :) (2 adults, a 4yr old and a 7yr old)

We cant wait to head of for our first overnight and hopefully a longer tour mid August :)

Welcome to the Craic, Ken!

Motorhomecraic appears to be very popular in Cork, any members in Kerry?

Welcome Ken. Enjoy your first motorhome and your travels in it.
The best way to learn about camping in motorhomes is to do it. Short trips like weekends away in your own region is the perfect way to check out if everything works on the van and what equipment and accessories you need.
Ask questions if you are unsure what to do. That's what forums like this one are for.
