Where to Purchase any advice welcome

Hi all,

I am looking to purchase a low profile motorhome for the two of us so it can be two or four berth. My budget is about €20 to €25 grand at a max so what should we expect for that type of money. Would we be better holding off to the winter to purchase to get a better deal and should we buy from a dealer or private. We have caravanned for years and just sold the van with a view to buying a motorhome. Your valued advice is more than welcome.

Barry.

Welcome to Motorhomecraic Barry!

Should get a great Van for that money! I know I looked over christmas time and there were fantastic deals in GB but with your VRT is it worth it? They didn't change much in price here.

Buying from a dealer has more peace of mind and of course some sort of warranty, but I wouldn't put off buying privately if you go armed with the right information and a damp meter!

I have had four Motorhomes and 3 of them including my current one came from Hagans, after sales service was great and wouldn't of got any of it privately.

As you come from a caravanning background I am sure you are aware of how important layout is, but can't be stressed enough to check all the layouts, sit in them for as long as you can, make the bed, have a snooze :) - kick back and imagine yourself relaxing in it. Costly experience if like me you just hate your first van and have to change.

Hope that helps.

Hi Barry, Welcome to the Craic. We bought our first Van (current Van) three years ago privately and save approx 7000 Euro over dealer prices, and never had a single problem with it. Next time I might go to a Dealer seeing that I have a trade in. You have a great opportunity to do a good deal when you have no trade in. If buying private get it checked out and make sure there is no finance owed on it and the best of luck with your Motorhome hunting.
