Trip around Eire

 ·
Posted: 05.07.2013  ·  #2
Hi - my husband Tom and I plan to take our car around Eire some time in August, together with Buddy (our cat). We have a Peugeot 806 which we have converted so that we can kip in the back. It has a small tail-gate tent to give us a little more room. We'd like some advice about where to stay on the journey. We don't mind wild camping, but would probably prefer small basic campsites if they exist - mainly so we can pitch the tailgate tent. Any advice would be so very welcome, as we can only find fairly expensive larger sites doing a Google search.

We had a similar set up before we got the Motorhome. A bed in the back of a Isuzu Trooper and a large Napier Sportz tent attached to the back. It had the advantage that you could drive away and leave the Tent freestanding, but it was a pain erecting the tent in the rain and we always had to use expensive camp sites.

Dear Admin - hope I'm replying to you, I'm not too sure how to use this site! We are hoping to visit County Clare in particular.

You seem to be managing the site ok so far :)

Not familiar with Clare myself so hopefully someone local can help.
