Camperstop downloads for Garmin Nuvi 760

Hi all.
I have downloaded the GPS co-ords for aires in France I hope ? from the Camperstop facile media site on to my Garmin Nuvi 760. The problem I am having at the moment is that I cannot locate them on my Garmin sat nav. I have tried changing the country on the sat nav to try to locate an aire but without any success. I would like to be sure that I have all the info properly uploaded before I go. Any suggestions.

Also I highly recommend the Camperstop 2013 edition very informative with a simple to understand layout with photos of the individual aires for anybody going to France or Europe.

This might explain you current difficulty, from their website.

xamples

Here below you see some examples of the way Garmin NĂ¼vi will show the motorhome points. First you always find the page number corresponding with the Camperstop Europe 2013. The dataset will give no information about the motorhome point itself, for details you need to use the guide Camperstop Europe 2013. Motorhome points can be overnight parkings, motorhome service points, campsites etc.

Hope this helps you a bit. :-)

Hi Seamus

Have you tried this;
Select where to,
Select extras,
Select the Aires file (whatever the name you added was called)
Along the bottom there is an option to spell the Aire you are looking for or the aires within about 100 miles should be listed.

Did you use "Poi Loader " to load the files to the sat nav or did you use some other method ??

Hi Seamus,

I presume it was the France Data-sheet you downloaded from their site, the France points has 2010 points. Some might be only visible when you zoom into that particular area.

when you used poi loader at the end of the process it should have told you how many points were installed on you Sat Nav.

WHat type of file did you download. ?? Eg, (.gpx) (.xml) (.csv) or some other type.

I just had another thought. Did you put the file on the sat nav itself, or on an Sd card.
The reason I ask is that there might not be enough space on the unit itself.

For those of you who understand and can read French ( i can't) I believe http://www.campingcar-infos.com/Francais/recherche.php is the Frenchmans bible for Aires in Europe. There are literally thousands and up to date.

Just in response to Where i went wrong in downloading info onto my Garmin.

Use the POI down loader from Garmin or which ever sat nav you use if you don't the sat nav cannot open the file.
Go into extras on your sat nav and from there into POI once there you should find the info that you uploaded.
My mistake was not using the POI down loader when down loading the info from the laptop.
Plus not knowing where to look in the sat nav to get the info that i had inputted.

Seamus.

Glad to see you are all sorted Seamus.

In my first post I have assumed you had used POi loader and was trying to explain how I find them on my garmin.
It is good the you have them all working now.

Enjoy using them on your trip.
