Long story but I'll keep it short...

Left a working phone into o2 which was hopeless at picking up WiFi, got it back NON working with a note saying water damaged. Complained to no avail, got a local shop to fix the "unecononmical to repair phone" for £50, got the £50 back of o2. But parts were missing and was advised it would probably go faulty again which it did. Been using a very old Nokia.

Been down all avenues but then went here: http://www.ceoemail.com/

Within 5 days it was sorted, a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 is on it's way to me :)

So well done the CEO, or at least his assistant :)

every time someone leaves a phone into O2 or carphone warehouse, which is faulty they always come back as water damaged. I recon it would be the same if it was straight out of the box.

Been hearing the same story, if it's water damaged they don't have to fix it. All to get you to take out insurance I bet. Plus an easily sorted for the engineer, "water damage" tough.

Don't get me going about Apple. I Bought a new I Phone 4s last year and after about three weeks the speaker stopped working and I have to listen to calls on the loud speaker.I was busy and didn't take it back for a couple of months. when I went to collect it I was told that it was water damaged and not covered by warrenty, but they would give me another new phone for 330euro with my own one. I still have the phone and it is still working fine apart from the speaker nearly 12 months later. It is a con job, the phone was never near water.

Apple iPhones have a liquid contact indicator which turns red when in contact with liquid, so you can check it before leaving in for any repair if you ever have to O-)

Chausson, try this if you get a minute,
Plug in headphones it iPhone and play music through the head phones to make sure they are connected properly,
Turn off the phone with the head phones still plugged into phone,
Give it 20 or 30 seconds then power her up again,
When all is operating as normal unplug headphones and see does that fix it as I had the same problem with computer and that did the trick,

Stu8rty I'm a new to apple lad and in fairness in impressed had old Nokia brick for years so it was easy to improve but I'm kinda hooked o.O

I have a number of apple devices, but have resisited the phone and currently use a HTC on Android, but could be tempted. I would have a mac instead of a pc except I couldnt justify the cost for all that i use it. The main porblem with all apple products is the price.

I have had three iPhones since they first came out. They are good products which is why stuck with them.

However after buying the iphone 5 about six months ago that is me finished with the iPhone.
Main reason for that is the new connector (called Lightening connector) You can buy a Lightening connector to the old 30 pin connector adaptor for about €30 but that doesn't even give full compatibility.

Now the thing doesn't play music via the cable in my car. It doesn't fit the audio devices in my home. I can't even charge it in the car without one of those little USB chargers that you plug into the cigarette lighter plug.

Major big mistake by Apple. What am I suppose to do? Change my car? Buy new audio devices for my home? I don't think so.

When I change phones it will not be Apple Iphone :(

Jurys still out on this topic android started off well then apple made a come back apart from Drifters post which I agree with on the new iphone 5 connector. Perhaps Ally could do a vote on this topic on which devices we own android phone / Tablet or Iphone / Ipad and see who the winner is !

my ipad is the lightning connector but the ipods, classic, touch and nano are all the old style one, as I dont use the ipad in the car on on the home devices this doesnt cause me a problem. I am slowly falling out with android as it is becoming more bloated and power hungry from what was the original version requiring the latest in processor and memory from the latest phones.

Digger you might pay more for an Apple Product but it's miles better. Have been using Apple for years now and would not use anything else.

Only seen this debate as I was away.

I refuse to get drawn into a Android versus Iphone war........

Yeah right ............

They both have brilliant OS's - Android being more techy whereas Iphone is more for simpletons - sorry technophobes

With Android you pick what phone you want and what manufacturer to make the best out fo the superb FREEWARE Operating system, with ISO6 you buy an iphone - NO other choice.

Bare in mind with the follwing review the Samsung S4 is already out and beats the Iphone 5 hands down.
Samsung S3 versus Iphone 5

Android now has a bigger market share than Apple.

Iphone users MUST only install what Apple recommends (unless you jalbreak) you STILL have no flash capabilities and your bluetooth sucks.

Android phones cost less.

They are both brilliant phones - Android phones (especially HTC and Samsung are just better :)

P.S. Stuarty - how much was your Whatsapp app? mine was free on Android :P
