Greetings one and all.
I am currently researching the world of motorhomes as I have no knowledge whatsoever. I would like to travel around Ireland and further afield as in Europe and motor homing seems to be the perfect way to discover off the beaten track.
Have been reading the threads on here for a few days now i decided to register as I was being to feel like a stalker lol.
Hopefully I can pick a few brains and learn from your knowledge and experiences.
I am not really bothered about large commercial sites as I would prefer to experience aires and a bit of the French passions, just don't tell the wife :fgrin:

Welcome Blacklablover. You are right there. Motorhoming is a great way of relaxing and a great lifestyle.

There is lots to learn, and learn as much as you can before you part with your money.
Do lots of research on internet forums, read a few of those glossy monthly magazines, visit a few motorhome dealers so you can get an idea what different designs are like. Consider renting one for a long weekend.

These activities will be informative and inspirational.

If something is puzzling you just ask a question here on the forum.

That's the way we all learned

Best wishes

Thank you for all for the welcome.

Currently reading loads on the net and subscribed to MMM. It seems to have taken over my life lol.

Will probably hire in the future for a taster if there are any good vehicles about. Got to be careful as I would hate to put the Mrs off by hiring some clapped out banger :fgrin:

I see you are in Bangor. If that is Bangor Co. Down I also live there.

You are very welcome to have a look around our van and ask questions etc. I know it can feel like you are under pressure at a dealership and forget to ask about some things.

There are other members in Bangor too and I am sure some of them would offer the same.

I am in France at the moment but will be home in about 10 days.

:D :D Welcome Martin. The way to convince the missus is not only the ideal Motorhome for your first outing, but the location of the stopover is a very important consideration too. Take her to a Motorhome craic event and she won't want to go home. :D

Mark that is a very kind offer. I too am away for 10 days from today though unfortunately not in France lol. I have just arrived in Manchester for a whistle stop tour of university open days.
Still I had a new past-time of spotting motorhome models on the motorway :D

Chevy that sounds like a cunning plan to me

I had to take the cat to the cattery yesterday and drop the dog off with relatives. Last night she said the house wasn't the same without the animals and then this morning she said no more holidays if the animals can't come
Job done!

No worries. Enjoy your Uni open days. We had that last year in Edinburgh and coleraine.
You are very welcome to give me a shout when you return.
