We're just back from 2 weeks of glorious weather in Punto Sabbioni, Venice.

We hired a 3 bed mobilehome for the 2 weeks which was a repeat of our holiday last year... So it was ALMOST like we were camping... Call it "Glamping" it you will...

Summary of the campsite -

Upside -
Great weather. Fantastic beach, great pool & village complex, everything you need on site and probably one of the most impressive and well organised campsites we've ever visited.

Down side -
Mosquitos a constant problem for everyone. Site was generally expensive.

I put together some photos of the Marina Di Venezia campsite and nearby beach. 90% of the photos in the album were taken onsite @ Marina Di V.

Hi Kevin

I'm still getting a proper look at your photo slideshow. Was wondering if you spotted any IRL or GB plates on any of the vehicles?

How far from Venice is the site & was public transport an easy option?

GB plates? Very few John. Maybe 7 or 8 UK plates over the whole fortnight. Only one NI plate and it was on a VW golf... NO IRL plates.
I got talking to one retired couple from the UK who were on the first leg of their retirement tour of europe. Their choice of transport, a white rangerover evoque (cool) but with the tiniest little caravan I've ever seen (in white to match the car)... They had a nice set up though wih a good tent awning and even a dometic A/C unit on their lil van... Small scale accomodation but very well appointed. I'm going mad I never took a pic of their set up.

How far is the site from Venice? From A to B, by road, its about 65km...... but by water taxi its only 6km 8-) .

Public transport is very easy there. We took the public bus from Trevisio airport to the campsite. Cheap and easy...

loving the map, so 10 times further by bus than water taxi. We had been looking at taking the motorhome to Venice for one of our main holidays in the next while. We had looked at the site you stayed on but we were also looking at some site less than 10kms from the centre, pretty close to the bridge connecting the island. Marina Di Venezia looks so much better though.
