Nice Aire for a stopover near Saintes France

We made use of a free Aire on Sunday night.
The book states there is room for six vans but as the French were all parked in the park outside the Aire there could be room for about 12.

It is 10 minutes from the A10 so very handy for anyone looking for a quick access stop for a night.
Village name is La Porchaire.

There is also an Aire outside the municipal campsite in Saintes itself and a short walk to the Roman centre of the city

If you are thinking of the aire beside river and outside the now defunct swimming pool that aire is now closed. You are still able to park for a few hours but not ovrnight. The directions for the new pay aire are on a board at the entrance to the campsite.
Cannot remember the address now.
