hi I am based in North Somerset and we have toured in Devon and Cornwall on many occasions. i dont want to sound too negative but sadly Councils are not too receptive to motorhome overnighters in many places and there are restrictions signs in many locations. You might want to join Wildcamping.co.uk, which works on a similar basis to this forum, though i have to say i dont find it as user friendly. Offical sites are not generally as expensive as those in Ireland, though you need to pick and choose. from personal experience i would recommend:

Overnight parking for around £5(?) right on waters edge near entrance to River Ex in Exmouth, close to marina complex and main beach. folllow signs to main beach from town and drive right along front as far as you can back towards town, with sea to your left. Car Park is behind row of shops overlooking estuary and you pay at the fresh fish shop in that row (super scallops on offer when we were there).

official site: Higher Rew near Salcombe - spacious pitches, good location to explore South Hams area, which is one of the highlights of any trip to Devon. fantastic coastal walking, great beaches, people watching in the busy Salcombe Harbour.

Official sites: several around Fowey Estuary: We have stayed at Penmarlam, loved it but thats because it has its own Quay and marina and we have a boat, or Polruan on the other side of estuary which has fab views.

be wary of some roads in both counties - plenty of Devon and Cornish banks - roads.sunk between high earth banks covered in wildflowers - can be unforgiving if reversing carelessly!
