A pensioner from Lifford has died following a serious road accident on the N15 Donegal town to Ballybofey road this afternoon. A female passenger in the car he was driving is understood to be very seriously injured.
A two car collision occurred at Ardnawark, Barnesmore circa 3.40pm when a car travelling from Donegal town to Ballybofey was in collision with a camper van travelling in the opposite direction.
The Lifford man and his passenger, beleived to be his wife, were seriously injured and were rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Gardai have confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at Letterkenny General Hospital.
A Wicklow couple, who were travelling in the camper van, were brought to Sligo Regional Hospital. It’s understood the woman has sustained a leg injury.
