Forward facing orange lights

Are forward facing orange lights allowed? No lights on my MH on the side, which is bit difficult in the dark going through narrow entrances such as my own gate. Picked up a pair of lights that stick out on a bendable arm but they have an orange lens.

I think John is right, but was there not orange fog lamps on cars in the 60s & 70s ??

Didn't do very much I'm afraid. Lol.

This might involve too much work for ya Ally, but a mate of mine did a modification to his ducato van for the same reasons you describe above. Not enough light spread out to the sides of the vehicle when he's driving through his narrow gates.

What he did was quite clever...

He converted the existing clear indicator lamps into side lamps. His were situated next to the headlamps. It was a matter of changing the yellow bulbs for clear, and wiring them to a switch.
He fitted aftermarket indicator lamps into the front bumper. Neat job too.

He plans to upgrade the side lights eventually by attaching switches to the steering rack so the respective lights would come on when he turned the steering wheel to the left or right, similar to the way Renault do on their newer cars, but he hasn't gotten around to that yet...

Nice idea  does sound like a lot of work though.

These are small lenses on a rubber arm, I suppose I could put them down low - facing upwards and on a switch, only put them on when needed.

Or I could go for the easy but more expensive option and buy lights for the side of the van.

hmm maybe not that expensive HERE

The ones I got were £2 at an event ;)

I have those fitted to the side of the van up near the roof, but I think they are standard fitting
