Last night in harbour car park of this nice town, good food and drink, however night spoilt somewhat by first some guys thinking its funny to run by all the vans (7 by the way) and bang on the bonnets at 11.30, then at 2.30 4 cars parking up and sounding their horns. 2 continental vans moved away we just waited till the idiots finished and went home not too long thankfully. Not a nice advert for tourism or a welcome to visitors, noticed on the way home the Garda station is 200 yards away fat lot of good they are, probably asleep. Dan and Bob, slept through the car horns, obviously I didn't have enough of Dans whiskey to put me to over. :D :D :D :D

Think it has been mentioned on here before that it's not the "quietest" of spots.

Yeah Exbiker I come from near Donegal Town and my brother who still lives there was telling me about those idiots. He suggests that you should telephone the Gardai in Donegal Town and lodge a formal complaint. The locals and particularly the business folk are more than happy to have motorhomes on the Quay. He feels that until the Motorhome people lodge complaints with the Gardi nothing will be done.

I don,t think the Guards or the Police here for that matter gives a toss at that time of the morning as I remember we stayed in Ramore Head in Portrush after the band contest where there were about 20 vans that particular night in question when an idiot in a BMW went on a drifting display until he actually burst one of his rear tyres against the kerb. I heard the loud bang of the wheel bursting and thought he had hit a Motorhome but when I got out of my Motorhome he drove past me about 50mph on the rim with sparks flying everywhere with no tyre on the rim. and continuous blowing of the car horn, and not a sign of police anywhere.
Idiots are plentiful when they know the police are not interested.

The problem with a lot of places now is that the local police/guard station is they are part time and don't have anyone present. In Portrush's case coleraine is where they have to come from and they won't do it for a tw*t spinning his wheels, if you rang and said there were free donuts then they may have turned up

I stayed there overnight at the start of August, and had no problems. Lovely peaceful nights sleep. Great tour of harbour on boat ride too.
