kids lost the camper van keys

Hi, We had a bunch of 3 keys for our campervan. Kids lost them while playing with friends in one of 3 back gardens

We have a very good metal detector but as of yet no luck. Any suggestions? How do we go about replacement? Cost?

Ignition keys are usually about 50-60quid to get cut and coded, the rest need to be just cut, but does your insurance not cover for lost keys?

start with your local locksmith (Havlins in Belfast) they can cut your ignition key and code it, or go to the likes of Fiat for the Ducatto based motorhomes etc. The locksmith will also be able to cut the ones to suit the lockers etc. Failing that contact the dealer for the motorhome but be prepared to pay a kings ransom off them.

Look at the policy documents for your insurance and see if there is anything about them replacing lost keys, you could even try your house insurance as you "had" house keys on the same ring as the motorhome keys.

Finally put the keys where the rug rats cant get them! I know I do and we dont have any living at home now.

I was quoted over 200 Euro last year for a Ducato key from a Fiat main Dealer.

Well the keys are still missing. Have re-inacted the games the kids were playing in the hope of jogging their menories but unfortunately we are not much furter on . It is very frustrating as we have been quoted 750 euro by a locksmith. Our insurance apparently covers the cost of the keys but not the service....towing van/removing barrels etc. I just don't know where to look now.
