Looking for info

I am considering (kicking tyres really) a change of motorhome and am looking at a Hymer A class or B class as they call them, and I was wondering if the collective know do you lose much in the way of mpg going from the low profile to A class. Also does anyone have experience of Hymer and are they all they are cracked up to be or is it just hype.

Couldn't see there being much difference in MPG. I wouldn't go by Pilote if it were me :) Never owned a Hymer so cannot comment.

this one is a 3.0 Merc v6 pulling 3.8 and automatic! Just wondering how different as I currently get around 30 tiddling about and upto 34 on the run to the sun, a few either way doesnt make that big a difference, but high teens low 20's would.

Should say pushing as its rear wheel drive!

The one I am looking at is basically the same layout and length as my current one, main difference is A class, with bigger engine and auto gearbox

Have an A class on a 2.3 ducato @ 3.850 kilo. Was driving around on 55psi in all wheels = 22mpg. Complained to my dealer ...........said stick a few more psi in the wheels..........and buy branded fuel only ie.........esso, texaco, etc........I did.........70psi all round and bought only branded diesel............= 26/29 to the gallon.

That's my tale.......... spoken to owners of the merc auto and they swear they would not drive anything else. Having driven a merc work wise for twenty years I have to say they are a lovely drive but thirsty if driven hard.
