12v TV wanted - how big can I go?

Folks,
Friend has asked me to install a 12v TV on his boat - I have done the same myself with good results.

The hassle is that he wants to go as big as possible, ideally up in the mid 20's so something around 24" - 26"

Only requirement is that it's 12v and Saorview - built-in DVD would be a nice bonus

Does such a TV exist? If not, what is the biggest 12v TV available on the market?

Thanks for your help

Mine is a 19" LED walker 12 volt with Saorview & built in DVD. I am sure they do a bigger one - Hagans stock them.

Never believed in going down the 12volt road. Fwiw I would buy an inverter and an ordinary 220 volt where you will have a lot more choice

Alt, we have a 24" - 12v tv with build in DVD, we have had it years. Thoroughly recommend the larger tv. Bought it on eBay and it wasn't expensive.

Hi alt,

From what I have read on motorhomefacts some people when purchasing TVs for their vans simply buy a standard 240volt model and modify them.

It would appear that all TVs take the mains voltage and reduce it to 12volts somewhere in the gubbins.

It is a while since the topic came up so my memory of the precise details may be slightly inaccurate.

The biggest drawback, although opinions differed was that 'domestic' TVs were not as rugged as those made for the mobile market.

Worth a bit of research perhaps.
