We pulled into shannon harbour last year, I suspect it may have potential but there were 'no motorhomes overnight' signs at the harbourmasters house (now a B&B).
We did not stay, but there appeared to be some potential on the East bank (south side). Parking in the village appeared to be no problem so you could park and ask.
You CAN stop over at Shannonbridge which is only 8 miles from Shannon harbour. Right beside the river between the little tourist office and a pub. Toilets and showers available (token).
There is a super pub called Killeens down the street (good food) loads of atmosphere, and a more upmarket restaraunt at the bridge in the old fort.

We've stayed in Shannon Harbour many time - no problems. We always park near the old house or along parking spaces in that area. Never parked near the harbour or the harbour masters house. lovely walks along the canal and the pub across the road is lovely and friendly.

Yes ,and you are quite corect about Killeens,(if you go in in the morning you may end up walking the pub dog).
However you should also try LUKERS bar beside the tourist office, where you can also be assured of a warm welcome-
thanks

Stayed at Shannon Harbour on last Tuesesday night 23/04/2013, no problems.
Signs say Motorhomes not allowed but enquired at McIntyres Bar and was told that Campervans were very welcome as long as you dont park in front of Harbour Masters House as this is a Bed and Breakfast.
Hospitality at McIntyres Bar second to none.
