I got a 19" bush with built in DVD in argos for €150 when the sale was on, usually €170 I think, it's 230v so I got a 300w inverter in maplin for €30 or €35 again it was on special,

I have a look on argos.ie but not on website at the minute but 24" for €180

The reason for choosing that tv is the viewing angle is very good on it, you don't need to directly in front to get a clear picture,

I then for recommended This which works like a dream aswell, it's also 230v but no problem working tv and this on inverter,

I'll have a look later and see if I can get you info on the TV as it's led which is light on battery

The Cello's work in the south (the traveller version) as i have used it on both aerial and satellite, it runs purely off 12v in the van. I only have a satellite on the van but have an Avtex aerial which I can stick onto the widow or outside of the van. That aerial has a built in amplifier which draws 5v from either the amp supplied (needs another 12v power source) or from the tv if it can supply it (Avtex TV's and Cello TV's can)

According to Simon at TLS the domes are still ok in quite a bit if Europe. Mine didn't need any upgrading.

From what I have read and heard anything south of Bordeaux will start to be intermittent to non existent. With the reduced footprint the positioning of the dish will need to be very exact. As Ally has said a lot of domes are now obsolete, but only for UK stations, there are other satellites out there and I am researching which ones broadcast what to find the best solution as I really dont intend to buy a 2m dish for my house in spain never mind what would be required on the motorhome!

That sounds like a good option as no inverter needed

I hope my little aldi dish picks up the cartoons in France  but we have a few back up DVDs just incase,
