Product Review - Mud Buster

As many of you will know, I spend a bit longer than most people do when it comes to cleaning the motorhome. I have a certification from Auto Glym and mainly use their products but I tried this product today after a recommendation. I am sure many of you will already be using Mudbuster products but there could well be Motorhome owners on this forum who have never heard of them or have seen them but not considered buying.

On the MudBuster Caravan and Motor Home Cleaner bottle it says, washes, waxes and removes black streaks so I thought I would see how good it was.

I followed the instructions buy adding a small quantity (probably a little too much) to a bucket of warm water and washed the motorhome from top to bottom with a sponge. Black streaks literally wiped off. In areas where the black streaks were more stubborn I rubbed a bit harder and it removed them.

This was much easier than with many other cleaning products I have tried in the past.

After rinsing with the hose (no power washer) I dried the whole van off with a chamois and was very surprised with the final shine.

I would usually spend about 5 hours preparing the outside of the motorhome for a trip but on this occasion I spent about 90 minutes and am going to leave it as it is to see how it looks after a week on the road and how easy it is to clean next time.

I was pleased to see that the Mud Buster range is owned by a local company in Magherafelt County Londonderry. So buying these products is keeping it local which must be a good thing at the moment.
I would say these products are well worth trying. I know I will be carrying this spray applicator in the van wherever we go.

I am not surprised as it must sell very well.

He doesn't seem to be listed as a stockist on their site yet.

Sorry he is but under another name

Thanks Mark for raising that. I just checked the Mudbuster Website and found that I was listed as a distributor under the wrong name. I spoke to Ronnie the owner who told me that the Mudbuster Website is being upgraded on Friday coming and my issue will be amended to read Rossdowney Leisure Services. In the meantime I have plenty of the whole range in stock if anyone wants some I will oblidge.

No mention of the power washer in the instructions.

It just says to add to water, sponge on, rinse off and chamois.

As far as comparing it to Fenwicks, I have only ever used Bobby Dazzler. This mud buster product is more soapy when applying and seems to remove the streaks better than I remember Bobby Dazzler doing.

I think that was just for speed on Ronnie,s part ,personally I would not use a pressure washer on mine at any time no matter how dirty it was. :o

Just back from my trip and haven't wash the van yet.
The van is really quite dirty so I will report back once I get a chance to wash it.

Seems good, nice shine, I done the car and Motorbike with it also, which left some white marks, but it does say to chamois it afterwards. Can't noticece them on the Motorhome though :)

Ally that's probably because the Motorhome is white. I used it on my Adria Vision which is greyish on Saturday. Excellent job with very little elbow grease.

I've just been on the website, watching the videos and although I'm happy to accept you guy's recommendations & give it a try, I wouldn't be convinced to buy it just by watching the vids. The only thing that was really mucky was the bike, and the power washer took virtually all the muck off that.
From what you lads are saying, the vids don't do it justice and they ain't doing it any favours.

BTW. Guess where the only English stockist is

Remember this is not a complete fix.
It is a quick fix for vehicle which already have a good wax coating on them.

It is a wash wax not a polish.

Saying that it is very good

I have stopped using Mud Buster, despite what the guy that makes it says, it contains caustic in my view.

These products give a good shine but they are a magnet for dust and mud I have tried these products and I found the van got dirtier quicker I find that wash up liquid a good rinse and chamois does the same job and lasts longer

See if you can get Auto Glym tar and adhesive remover for taking sticky stuff off.

Farecla gel coat restorer and polish is good of your body is GRP and dull. You need to be careful on the edges and high spots. Remember to use a polish then a wax immediately afterwards. If you don't it will oxidise again quite quickly.

Silky is also good but again must be polished and waxed to seal your work...

Nail polish remover. When you get the adhesive off, you can always have a wee sniff.
