Keep Your Motorhome Level

Had a Motorhome in last week for refrigerator problems while on gas. On inspection I found the flame tube was burned completely through and not allowing the heat to proceed up the tube to keep the fridge cold . Removed the tube and repaired the hole which was caused by the Motorhome not being leveled up when parked with refrigerator on gas.
Just a thought that it is very important for the Motorhome to be as level as possible when parked and using the gas section of the fridge as this is what happens through time.
The owner of the Motorhome was completely oblivious as to why Motorhomes should be leveled and was thankful for the information and bought a set of leveling ramps as well.

I gave them a MOTORHOME CRAIC FLYER and explained to them the importance of becoming a member for info ,advice and friendship and the craic . O-)

I usually never bother levelling up and always use the fridge on gas. May start levelling now, thanks Willie!

Nice one with the flyer

I,ve seen some Motorhomes parked up for the night and how the occupants slept in them I don,t know ,they were so much of the level . Don,t even let the rain put you off levelling up. Its too important.

LOL.Chausson. Frying pan got to be level too :D . Some water in the sink is a good way to level up as well, when you pull the plug it should all disappear, if your not level some will stay in to the lower side.

Filling a glass of water and leaving it on the table,or if the toilet door closes or stays open, will show you if you are level, or a small sprite level will help,or just use ehu,

Taylor or a glass of nice French red wine! You can see if you are level or not as you drink it.

Have to say I have 3 moterhomes in last 15 years, never bothered in levelling, and never had a bother with fridge- invariable on electric, but often on gas. Hawever a friend has a caravan, and it needs to be level or fridge will be erratic.
Regards
Fraco

Most fridges don't like to operate at anything over 8 degrees officially, in fourteen years never saw pipe burnout, even by the incorrect use of gas usage or tampering, saying that mines on a slope and works fine all the time, and I have seen similar models off by a few degrees not cool at all, different models by the two main suppliers can be completely different and or bitches
