Hi,heading for France for 3 weeks in mid July.Is there any point in joining any discount schemes like camping cheques or acsi or do they only work off-season?

Hi Vin,
Can't comment on Camping cheques, but acsi discount finishes end of June or early July. Would you concider Aires?

That was the plan to use aires.Just wondering about acsi and the like.Last year while queing for boat in Rosslare was talking to a couple who had some sort of vouchers(can't remember what they were)and they were valid on some campsites in high season

Hi vino. Use the aires , we have used them for years now never had any trouble and most are free . There are thousands of them.

Hi,
99 % of aires are great. Even better are the free ones in the local villages which you can find if you use the main road as opposed to the motorways. At a push you might be asked to pay perhaps 1 or 2 euros if they have electric/toilets. Just buy a baguette in the village and the locals will think you are the bees knees but you don't even have to do that.
Enjoy

We used camping cheques last year and will be doing so again this year, but we don't go in peak season so they're great for us, all 3,4+5 star sites and you get to stay for £14 a night - often with free nights if you are staying a week. All of the sites in their book (627 in 2013 book) accept them out of high season but there are more and more accepting them throughout the season. We tended to treat ourselves every 3 or 4 days to a spot of 5* luxury! Oh and just in case you're that way inclined, they are valid on a few naturist sites too!
