Thinking over the camper conversion... For a camper for weekends away... What would be more important if you had to choose.. A camper with bed/sofa and shower/toilet or a camper with bed/sofa and kitchen facilitys?

If you are wild camping then toilet facilities would be better, but if on sites then you have the use of their facilities and a kitchen. You could have a camping kitchen to use outside and cover up with a roll out awning and even a privacy room and use the space for toilet etc.

Then I would say the toilet facilities would be more important and look at a camping kitchen for cooking ourside the van with an awning for shelter.

Kitchen Facilities because you can carry a stowable Thetford Porta Potti Cube toilet if needed (its the smallest you can get) and then at least you have cooking and washing and can heat water in a kettle.

If you're wildcamping, Kitchen..... cos wild camping is like it says on the tin, need the toilet, then use the great out-doors.
If on Site, still Kitchen, cos they have the toilet facilities there.
When all's said and done, a kitchen will feed you, warm you, wash you, whereas a toilet..... well you get our drift lol

Toilet for me....
Every time. You can get a small camping stove (they come flat in a small case and take up no room - Tesco and Argos have them). We went camping in a tent before we had the van, and were able to get by brilliantly with the stove, sitting outside cooking, (actually in summer we often use it outside the van) cant ever remember sitting outside having a pee. :D :D :D

Now that brings me to a similar topic - does any of you ladies use the Shewee, got one as a pressie when i said we were going to Vantastival in May, OMG :o :o :o

I googled it John,
I think it sounds fantastic especially points 4 and 6.... imagine the aroma on a hot day
However the "tip" bothers me as I would shudder at the thought of it in my dishwasher after a weekends use

Howtoshewee.

We are confident that you’ll find it easy to Shewee, even liberating, but here are some instructions for you in case you aren’t sure....

1. Undo trousers
2. Push underwear to one side
3. Place Shewee gently against the body with the outlet pipe directed away from you
4. Aim urine to a suitable place – away from feet, into a toilet or a container
5. When finished, pull Shewee forwards to wipe and catch any drips (liquid repellent surface ensures no drips)
6. Place your reusable Shewee back into a bag or resealable container

Tip! Practice with Shewee in the shower to find the best position for you.

Shewee is washable by hand or machine and can withstand temperatures up to 120˚C

Probably easier and cheaper to have a disposable nappy in a compostable bag rather than bother with all that!

no for the more important matters, Deirdre, I've also have a sheewee, though its still in the box - it scares me!! hahaha, maybe we should bring them this weekend to try them out!! lol
