Goodnight craicers. We got home from Rosslare last evening after a VERY ROUGH crossing from Cherbourg. Had a really great week. Here is a quick summary.
Saturday in Sainte Mere Eglise after leaving Cherbourg at 5pm. Parked up at the Super U there.
Visited Utah beach Sunday morning early, 3degrees. Freezing cold wind so south to Josselin. Stayed at the aire in town centre. No services working but public toilet open.
Monday to Quiberon. Fab day 18 degrees. 6euro to stay at the aire. Sat out till 8pm chatting and sipping. BTW, went via Carnac. Very motorhome unfriendly! Aire being dug up, barreirs and no parking signs everywhere.
Tuesday, Pont l'Abbe via Lorient & Concarneau. In Lorient the Ligue 1 team had an open day! Tour of stadium and open training session with first team all free. A super 2 hours. Concarneau was Ok. Was going to stay at the aire at the train station. Parked there but walked the town incl old town in 3 hours so moved on to Pont l'Abbe where we parked up at the LeClerc aire. 2euro for all night leccy.
Wednesday to St Michel en Greve aire via Pointe du Rez - spectacular drive on coast road with super scenary and little towns. Aires everywhere. On to Locronan which was "pretty". Again was going to stay there but nothing was open.
Thursday we set off to Binic where we stayed 3 years ago. Lovely town. Inexpensive restaurants and huge aire. Started our "shopping" today so all we saw were shops on the way to Avranches which is generally our start and finish town before we hit for Cherbourg. If ever there, treat yourselves to dinner out at Le Croix d'Or at the top of the town. Not cheap but OMG, an experience to savour.
Anyway, back to reality..............Hobey
