does anybody know if the vans with alko chassis are any good in ireland (speed ramps ,small hump back bridges pot holes etc) does the low under body cause problems
I have an Alko chassis on mine and only ever have had 2 issues....getting off the Killimer to Tarbart ferry if they don't dock the boat in far enough....the ramp is too steep and I caught it at the back end and had to back up onto the ferry again until they pulled in further. and the second one was the last service station on the RHS before going down to the docks at Rosslare. Again if you are using that then exit via the HGV exit and not the car exit. The car exit is steep if you exit and want to turn right. going left is fine......!!!! Hope this helps.
You should have no trouble with your alko chassis in normal everyday use, this chassis is built for motorhomes, great driver and steady on the road.We can supply wheels to fit on the chassis to lift the van up at the back therefore usually stopping the van getting caught going on and off ferries. They are a very good job.

The Alko chassis is usually much better than the original chassis, not available on rear wheel drive but very good stable ride. If your motorhome is low on the rear when coming off the ferry drive off the ramp at an angle, this make a hugh difference.

It has Air Suspension, it's also quite old but the chassis is like new, that's why I asked
if it is their should be a metal plate under bonnet similar to youre vin plate saying alko on it and giving you payload waights.
