"What is this" thread....

Basic rules are as follows - Take a photo of any item and zoom in on a part of the item that is not too indistinguishable (make it difficult but not impossible). Crop the image, and post it here for others to guess. When someone guesses correctly, the original un-cropped photo can then be shared.

Whoever guesses correctly wins the right to continue the game by posting their cropped photo... and so on...

Heres mine. I'll make it a bit easy to get the ball rolling...

Its something I have on my desk here in my ENGINEERING office... ;-)

(but its made from the same material as a typical silver coloured pencil sharpener... )
