Hi all, just wondering would anyone have any good recommendations for large resort like campsites that have great facilities, nice pools, slides etc for family holidays which are also close enough to towns/coast etc for cycling/walks when want a break from the campsite...preferably spain/Portugal and france but also the rest of europe to put on the list of places to visit in future ....

We try to head away at school easter hols to try and get a bit of sun and 3 wks in the summer and this yr will be our first Christmas away in the motorhome and heading to gibralter for 2 days and a wk in camping villasol in benidorm and hopefully another wk if possible maybe near murcia....again this Xmas trip is to try and get some winter sun also as the dark cold evenings does not make me a happy camper🙂.

The campsites that are a family favorite at the moment for Easter Hols has been Sanguli in Salou spain, for summer hols has been les ormes in brittany france ,la garangeoire in Vendee france and union Lido and marina di Venezia near Venice in Italy...All of these campsites we would go back to in a heartbeat...we are just looking for new options especially for some sunshine around Easter school hols and around Christmas time in southern spain and Portugal....thanks in advance for any info.

Yes germany would be of interest maybe for a summer holiday sometime,, all recommendations welcome🙂
we are usually chasing the sun for Easter Hols and for this yrs Christmas trip....the campsites I've mentioned that we've visited before usually have Irish and UK visitors which the kids love as they can mix easily with kids that have the same lingo and usually spend hours daily playing football etc with them...I've checked out eurocamp which obviously just rents out cabins but gives great info on campsites available and would also cater for the Irish and UK market...we stayed on a few smaller French campsites before and we absolutely hated them,we were jammed in like sardines and had very few or zero Irish or UK campers...we now much rather the larger resort style campsites which have fabulous facilities, large pitches and plenty to do.

When heading back north in late august we stayed in chiemsee lake campsite ,bavaria ,south east of Munich, this is camping on an industrial scale,480 odd pitches,a real holiday type site for long periods, the lake is known as the Bavarian sea ,60 miles long, its so big, this site is close to the Austria border, and Salzburg is only about 30 miles away and a train goes to it every day, old style paddle cruises on the lake, big playgrounds for children, huge shower blocks, endless unlimited hot water , walking ,cycling , they give us a huge pitch 10 meters from the lake, but I don’t think they allow dogs,if you use p4n and choose around this area then zoom out there’s dozens of sites

If you are passing through the UK Haven sites have all the facilities which are included with play passes and can be cheap as chips if you shop about with dates. Unfortunately they sky the prices up when the kids are off school and bank holidays
