I like a few others use Vodafone Red package for roaming when abroad. I have never had a problem tethering my phone to my smart tv and I have found the unlimited is exactly that.
I have previously bought SIM cards in the countries I have been traveling in but in addition to the hassle of getting the sim I haven’t really thought the deals are particularly good.
Vodafone red is around €60 a month and covers all my calls texts and data roaming at home and abroad.
Anyway all was good until about 3 weeks ago until I noticed my WiFi was really, really slow. I ran a series of speed tests and it varied considerably from about 1 megabite to 10/15 where as another phone with a different provider was 50 to 100 megabytes. I happened to be passing a Vodafone shop and they said ring 1907 and ask for a disconnect followed by a reconnect and for a few days this helped but I was still much slower than the other phone. So I called the number again and they said go to settings, general, reset/transfer I phone then reset network work settings. I did this and it powered down then powered up again and after that I was told to turn the phone off for at least 20 seconds and turn it on again.
The result…..
Amazing but true my download speed has increased to between 150 to 200 Mbps.
Downside it meant I had to re enter my password word to the devices that share my hotspot and it deleted the name I had given to my phone which was along the lines of unable to join Jim’s WiFi. And I didn’t recognise the new name which was basically iPhone.
