Great service from Renogy.eu

Last November (2023) I went about replacing my B2B and MPPT units because I had installed Lifepo4 batteries and needed a compatible charging kit. I decided on a DC to DC Battery Charger with MPPT for LiFePO4 unit. Renogy has a 30A and 50A version and after being advised that the 30A or 50A referred to the max combined output as in if the sun wasn't shining and the engine was running the full 30A or 50A would come from the engine but if the solar was giving 5A, for example, the engine would contribute the balance of 25A.
As it turned out the 30A indicated a Max of 15A from each source and the 50A a max of 25A from each source.
11 months later, in October, I contacted Renogy.eu and complained that I had been misled in my original enquiry and that had I known the true performance charastics if their units I would have ordered the 50A unit.
Renogy apologised to providing the misleading information, sent me a return label for the unit I got last year and promptly credited back the cost to my account.
I ordered THIS UNIT which is now installed.
Great customer service

BTW, it's not obvious when reading the specifications, but the unit also sends a charge to the engine battery from solar.

Glad you had such a good experience with Renogy
I haven’t been so lucky although they did sort it in the end
I also looked at the same unit on occasion but decided on there 40 amp mppt and 30amp dc to dc charger
How is the charging on the solar side working for you
I usually fit 3 x175 watt solar panels in parralell12v
Two 260ah batteries
Reviews of this unit haven’t been to good on the solar side I’d be interested in your views

No issues on either the B2B or MPPT sides. I haven't had a chance to assess the performance of the 50A unit but the 30A unit I returned seemed to work well.
I got the free gift BT unit with the 50A unit and that seems to work well.
When I had the 30A unit I had to rely on the BMS for the batteries which isn't that good at reporting on small currents in and out.
However the OE Rapido panel registered charging as might be expected from my 200w of solar, depending on conditions.

The new BT unit shows currents as low as a couple of watts from the solar panels

This is great thanks for sharing! Been looking into these recently. You mentioned it charges the starter as well?is that once the leisure(s) are full? Or does it split it's charge as it's going based on capabilities of the recieving batteries?

When you originally fitted, was it replacing a split relay?

Our diesel heater was wired to the starter from what I can see, so I'd be happy to have some extra power going it's way!
