And when someone answers, inform them that your call is being recorded in order to help them improve their services,
Currently pay Dolmen for insurance and ADAC for breakdown cover.
Why can't I have both from the same company.?
Just another example of the insurance industry, being allowed to pick and choose, how to screw their customers, while claiming there is competition, in the market.

I too have ADAC breakdown. However, the last time I needed assistance I first tried the Dolmen cover and within an hour a breakdown truck arrived. It was to change a wheel after the valve failed and it was in Italy.

I too had a breakdown this year in Kilkenny, and contacted axa, the first ee5min of the call was dealing with how much I could claim and how many times, only then did she ask what the problem was, she proceeded to take down a the incorrect details, so much so the breakdown truck thought he was collecting a sprinter van not a 4ton A Class Motorhome.

I was with Stuarts but I discovered that they only insure you for a limited period, I think it was 30 days per year, while travelling in Europe.
Yes, I left them for the exact same reason, stupid rules but it's Aviva and they're good at that
I can sort of understand the 30 day rule for cars but applying it to motorhomes makes it unfit for purpose.
Do they not know that many motorhomes are owned by retired people who may be fortunate enough to head off to the winter sun for a few months.

Why would they care, they do not need the business, they share a monopoly in the insurance quango that operates in this country

Whatever shortcomings the Breakdown Assistance element of Dolmen's policy may or may not have at least it's a fit for purpose insurance policy for motorhome owners, unlike the Stuarts offering.
One wonders what would be the situation if someone for some reason, like a missed or cancelled ferry, exceeded their 30 day allowance. Would their cover be nullified for the remainder of the cover period.
I was with Stuarts and left them about 4 years ago because of the 30 day clause. At the time they would cover for more than 30 days but you had to apply with dates and there may have been an additional charge. I did go for about 35 days and there was no extra charge on my last policy with them
