So does everyone go into the same area for all Ferry’s, and what is the check in, is it just a booth we’re they give you the ticket hanging from the mirror , or do you have to get the van

You can't check in without your Van, Its done on number plate recognition, they give you your boarding card and cabin key card.and lane number , they may look for a passport for an out of state reg vehicle, you could probably walk out up to the terminal , but don't wander off, when they start loading they move to the dock side fairly quickly.

You do not need to leave your van until you have boarded the ferry. Tickets etc will be dealt with from your seat.

Not quite so
I booked my trip 3 months ago and sold my camper 3 weeks before sailing
Got a new camper on northern plates and rang up stena line
They said not to worry they will change my sailing to too be confirmed at check-in

Steven, what I meant was you can't walk up to the booth, without your van, with your ticket in your hand to be checked in , which the question " do you have to get the van " seems to be asking :D
But then again I have never seen anyone try it ,so anything is possible. :-/

You must be in the vehicle so the person checking you in can see the number of passengers is as per booking and the vehicle size is also as per booking.
A vehicle higher or longer than booking could be subject to additional charges

Heading out September on brittany, with dog friendly cabin.
Is there a different boarding procedure to deal with pet passports etc?
