Anyone used it in their Motorhome? any problems? what is the angle like for long Motorhomes, will it scrub the back going on/off?

Want to use it on Saturday from Portaferry as we will be in Kirkinstown and thinking of heading to Tollymore afterwards.

Thanks folks - does it go quite regular? been years since I was on it. We will probably be there around 17:30

Mark: website says £10 and it's nearly 50 miles to drive around, about 1hr 20 minutes. Can't get Google Earth to use the ferry to see how far that is :)

True.
Not much in it really. If you take the ferry you could call into Castleward and see the site.

It leaves Strangford on the hour and half hour. It leaves portaferry on the quarters, last ferry is somewere around 22.00. You will be quite close to Currans pub/restaraunt (stop over allowed) at churchtown Near Ardglass.

The ferry is the best alternative when the road between Strangford and Portaferry is flooded !!

No electric untill further notice written on large placard at Tollymore on Tuesday when I was in the park. One caravan and one motorhome on site.

Cheers Davy.

Know about the "no electric" situation at Tollymore, have a personal view on why they have none available. One of the reasons we are going. :D

Ally, was at Castleward last weekend as National Trust members its £15 inc elec, p/n, great walks round the estate, ref the ferry, costs us £2.50 as we have Blue card and bus passes; don't know your van but mine is 6.4 m with a fair rear overhang, at high tide its no problem I wouldn't be too keen on driving on/off at low water. I can recomend the Cuan Bar/resturant in Strangford, fabulous food and friendly owner "Peter" guiness v good. Well worth the ferry trip and better than Tollymore if theres no leccy. Bill. :D :D :D enjoy

Well Ally that's only 80p more. They have probably realised that diesel has gone up so took the opportunity to put their prices up.

Yep it's fair enough, the website says anything over 7 metres should be £10, but they never charge it.
