Having spend a very nice couple of days slowly driving around various parts of Co. Waterford we arrived in Tramore today. What s disappointment ! The place was buzzing, weather lovely and we had money to spend!! Maybe a nice lunch, perhaps buy a T-shirt in one of the surf shops etc etc but alas we could not park our camper. NO CAMPER signs everywhere. Barriers across car parks that had tons of room even the Aldi carpark had a barrier. Its a disgrace the way MH owners are made feel so unwelcome. When will local councils recognise our worth to their local economy.

My Van is a converted Van just under 6 meters. I parked up along the prom in Tramore last summer beside a Fiat Ducato commercial van I paid and displayed my ticket and we went for a walk on the beach. When we came back the traffic warden was standing beside my van with his machine out. He said I was lucky to came back in time as there's no campers allowed to park here as per the signs up everywhere. I ask him about the Ducato van beside mine which is the exact same size, and he say's it not a campervan so it's allowed. I give up!!

There's no basis in law for the traffic wardens position on the issue.
Once your vehicle is road legal it can be legally parked in any place where parking is legally permitted.
There are no legally permissable signs which provide for specifically restricting the parking of motor caravans where parking is permitted.

Who's to say, in the particular circumstances you mention, that the other Ducato hadn't a bed and other stuff inside that enabled it to be used in the same manner as your vehicle.

Unfortunately you should have just ignored him, and let him know that the next time you would meet, would be in court, where in front of a judge he was going to have to explain what the difference actually was.?
Between a van with no windows, and a van with windows, and the same type of van with lots of windows ( A Mini Bus).
And remind him that it would be a good idea if he brought the council official ( Idiot) who gave him the instructions, with him to court..

I have to say that the time I spent last year in Tramore it wasn't what I expected...I stayed in the campsites beside the graveyard loads of horizontal rain ,loads of fishing and extremely busy ...positives and negatives. But I definitely return...
