Last year I booked a Ferry to Greece from Italy. I booked very early about 10 months in advance and got a 20% early booking discount. That said when I was completing the booking process there was an option of an extra 25% discount if I was a member of a camping club, the catch being it was only specified clubs, many of which I couldn’t join or the membership fee negated the benefit.
For example one of the clubs was uk based and it is £48 to join. Other clubs were specific for Germany, Italy and Greece. That said I have subsequently found another listed club that is free to join and would give the discount.
I realise that with Stena, IF etc there are discounts for Axa members etc, nothing for Brittany between Ireland and Spain. But it’s certainly worth looking on ferries that operate from other countries, Germany, Sweden etc. even Spain to Italy.
