7.43 metres long and and weight of under 3500 kg , I wouldn't think it has a great payload unless you upgrade the 3500 kg limit , just my thoughts on it , a lovely van though

Nice van, just under 100,000 miles is not a deal breaker if it was minded well (I'm no expert)
We considered importing, the costs were too much, we were lucky to get a 2020 Burstner Campeo 600 already cleared and registered in Galway, it was imported from Germany about 2 years ago.

the price is tempting, but with a flight over and a ferry back, plus our unfair VRT system, it can be expensive

There are dealers importing similar vehicles and selling including VRT costs, most are legit dealers, some are "Arthur Daly's"

The payload is surprisingly good at 600kg, although as said a length of 7.41m. Leads me to think it has a light construction with resultant lower quality build.

https://weinsberg.com/fileadmi…-en-uk.pdf

The mileage is quoted in km, so in miles it is just over 60,000. My 2016 van has 50,000 miles over 8 years, however given the Weinberg was registered just 6 months before lockdown started, they must have either piled the miles on in short time or used it to full time widely over Europe.

Only a physical inspection and check of service paperwork etc would decide wether it is good value and in good condition mechanically and in the habitation side. But nice to dream. Hopefully someone will get a nice van.

A lot of ex rental stuff in Germany hence the high miles. Only have the standard licence so going above the 3500kgs not an option. A good few models come in at 7.2 to 7.4m whether it’s Sunlight \ Weinsberg \ Knaus \ Dethleffs \ Adria \ Carado.

Better to be well used than to be just sitting idle.... I'd rather see higher mileage than very low mileage.... just my 10 cent 😜

Crazy miles or potential good value?

Thoughts?

A well used van ( hire van) dead give away heigh milage, basic fit out, no solar, a lot of the same month/year vans on the market at this time. here is one near same money. Half the milage, but still at 40k, kilometres, too heigh, who sells a 2 year old van.
https://www.truckscout24.com/ (Listing id A129-37-736.)
But also look at the amount of month 02 that are for sale. Why?

If you are looking in Europe. Put 25% onto the asking price.
If you still thing your getting what you want and can afford go for it. It's not difficult.

The Sums.
VRT based on a similar van to the one your looking at
( Condron Camper Co. Carlow. FORSTER T699 EB LOW Profile) €80. ( the VRT could be lower)

€ 52k + 10k VRT + 1k ferry etc. + 1k ins, tax, Cvrt, kitting out,
1k for flights B&B to go look it over. ( I would suggest a few trips, to be sure of spend of that size.)
The big question is is €65k good value for something that is around €80k here.???

My van was valued €12k more than I paid for it. Did I get good value,? But I got a lot more than I could get here.

Sprinter

Your find is even better value in my view while also from a rental fleet has a lot less miles. Am I wrong to think that the miles would level out in private ownership as one would never do the miles they clock up while renting. While the one in Condron Campers is a beauty it’s 15k over my budget and your find comes in maybe 10k less and 3 years newer. I know plate isn’t everything but they age so quickly. I had a fixed bed over garage for 8 years so like the space that brings. I understand none will probably have solar but that can be added after on the right vehicle. They have a love of Satellite dishes and TV which are of zero interest to me. Not sure I’d class them as basic fit out having come out of a 2006 myself.

Appreciate you took the time to reply.

Missed the plus VAT on your find🤨

As has been said a lot of ex rentals go on the market about this time , its not just the milage you have to keep an eye on but tbh that wouldn't put me off so long as the condition was good , the rental vans do tend to be the basic spec, things to look out for is lack of power point both 12v and electric also the heating which will tend to be gas only and no solar , you can get them to retro fit some of theses as part of a deal but just beware of the spec when viewing, as its posable to miss this with your rose coloured glasses on when viewing a penitential new van !

Your future dream’s cud very easily be a current nightmare, I was in this van the other week ( done deal Armagh campervans) benimar mileo 2019, read the whole add. I seen the van sitting in a car garage when I was in looking at a car for daughter, i knew it was to good to be try but not this bad , unbelievable, it’s put me off a bit on buying first mh,then if you look on Down, there’s an auto trail for what looks to be decent money for year and a lovely van but look at his fotos, honestly it’s a minefield

Just my tuppence worth, a rental van with that kind of mileage will have had many drivers.
It will probably have had many new panels fitted plus the lack of consideration for interior fittings can only lead to high maintenance for someone else further down the line.
Many times I have observed the driving of hired motorhomes and it is unbelievable and the amount of corner panels ripped off can be staggering.
That is just my thoughts.
