For anyone who maybe interested I have seen Irish ferries and Stena are advertising 10% off sailings to France (I didn’t check the small print) and Brittany have a December offer to Spain.

I’m not sure if the craic discounts still exist or if it’s is a bigger saving.

I saw that on a uk stena ad but only 2 for 1 Ireland used to be 3 times the face value but I think they’re reducing to 2 for 1 at some stage.

I booked a Harwich -Hook of Holland crossing using Tesco vouchers and got 3 times but changed them early on in the year when you could still get 3 times. It's Tesco who have changed their system so you only get 2x the value on all rewards so not down to Stenna.

What are the Tesco points worth in euro or sterling.
What do you get as a reduction of the sailing cost?
How many points can you use per trip.

I don't understand how they work but £100 worth of points is exchanged for Euro 200 off the total.

OK that's logical.
So how do Stena Line blue points work? I appear to have 4500 of them, and they want me to sail to Ireland and have a great holiday in Dublin. 🤣🤔

I think you get €45 off with 4500 blue points, enjoy your trip to Dublin , although the DART would be quicker and cheaper 😁😁

Using Tesco points on stena or Irish, it’s not completely straightforward firstly you have to book on a different page on their website and you cannot use the Tesco points in conjunction with any other discount see this for more information https://www.stenaline.ie/tesco
That said as we do most of our shopping by way of delivery from Tescos we normally have enough for a crossing to the uk or to Cherbourg. If your vouchers don’t cover the total crossing amount you pay the extra online. Be aware that with tescos you cannot book a flexi ticket.

At 3 times the face value it was worth it for us but at 2 x times the face value unless you have a lot of vouchers it maybe cheaper to use a discount and use the vouchers in Tesco.

Your blue points are worth €45 and they have an expiry date.

It looks like any discounts will be more than wiped out by the ‘environmental charges’ now being levied. I know that there has been a levy for several years now, but the latest ‘edict’ from the EU is really taking the wee wee. €46 each way for the vehicle! Look at the quote I have attached. The levy is now 10% of the fare. And whilst on the subject, I was pleased to see the introduction of a discount club. However my late summer sailing last year costing about €760 if I recall, will yield a discount this year of €19.50

This on top of the removal a couple of years back of the free U.K. trip if you sailed ireland to France in high season. The reduction of the number of towels and the stopping of even the plastic glasses in the cabin bathroom.

Irish Ferries has gone to the dogs since they got rid of the Oscar Wilde!!
