We were in the Hub Wednesday morning when Amanda put the kettle on, it’s a 1000 watt camping kettle, the fridge was on gas and we didn’t have the heating on so we were surprised when the kettle stopped. I thought we must have tripped the ehu socket so I got out my tester and realised it wasn’t the ehu socket. But seeing as we had no power to the vans socket I checked the van’s trips and saw one had tripped. Re set the trip turned on the kettle and no power again. This time the trip on the ehu had tripped.
We reckon the kettle must be faulty, which is annoying as it’s only 8 years old. Hob kettle to the rescue. This testing kit is well worth carrying in your van.
