Hi we are traveling to Ireland with my family. This afternoon the power steering hose has a broken seal and is leaking fluid. We are looking for a mechanic to fix our 2006 ford transit camper by the 17th (our arrival in Dublin) .You can help us?

Dear friends, please help CRISTIAN who has a serious mech issue.
He is somewhere in France near Cherbourg where he is expected to cross tomorrow.
At least give him instruction on how to get the App and find the resource he needs.
Thanks, Max

Christian I live a long way from Dublin so unable to give you contact details but fear not as you are coming to a place where help is never far away for fellow Motorhomers .
Keep this post live and I have no doubt that once you get off the ferry you will soon get a helping hand. Good luck 👍

Hi if you have a contact with @mtravel get in touch with him now, he has a message for you.
If you don't, post a contact number on this site tomorrow when you land in Dublin port. We will have somewhere for you to go to for a repair.

with help of @mtravel I was able to give him my details, then when he landed in Dublin, he was able to send me a photo of his VIN plate, with this Robbie got in touch with his Ford supplier.

I contacted CRISTIAN, phone and Email ( Google Translate) the news is not good at this time, the pipe because its a L/H/D, is not available in Ireland or the UK, has to come from Germany approx 5 days. and the pipe is nearly €300. I wouldn't think looking for a second hand one is an option either.
He is making his way towards me and then he will have to decide what he wants to do, and what were his plans. how long is he going to be here.

I always keep a roll of it in my tool box

I’d not recommend driving for extended time as the pump will go dry and likely seize causing fan belt failure.

If he makes it to the north west I’d get an end of a RHD transit P/S pipe and cut his pipe and braze the RHD end to his existing pipe as I’ve still got old school oxy/acetylene gear in my workshop.

That sure is an offer Jon that I hope he takes up, that repair will last him a very long time.👍
