Just a warning, dont play chicken with another Motorhomer. Did this today on a narrow bridge near Killybegs. The other guy came off worse his mirror was completely smashed.

As usual had to put van on its side to fix it

That's a bummer, I've had two of those, one totally my fault, the other a round bale chariot.
Has your mirrors got the indicator lamp on the outside, I have a spare set of mirror guards for that type.?

Did that on Ring of Kerry in A-class, not a bendy section but straight, parapet of bridge made road narrower and sign sticking out and truck coming other way.Duct tape. £500 .
Another time branch sticking out of a hedge neat Kate’s Bridge, off the M1 on narrow road.
You realise how important mirrors are when you haven’t one.

Thanks Martin but its the old version and doesn't have the indicator. I'll have a go at fixing it, if not ill replace with a second hand one. Rosemary I still have the glass, so far. Another thing the shelf in the door of the fridge broke so it looks like a day of plastic welding for me. Have you seen the price of them. They are having a laugh

Tommy, I may have a s/h cover. I’d need to check
2x 10mm bolts under the rubber corrugated sleeves lifts off the outer and 5x #10 torx screws under the big mirror glass takes the cover off the aluminium base. If it’s electric then it needs unplugging inside the door card…. but not a difficult job.

I still have a mirror but the electric bit isn't working. Worse things happen at sea

I read somewhere recently where some vans have a temperature sensor in the wing mirror which if not refitted after a mirror clash can put your van into limp mode and a lot of mechanics are unaware of this and keep throwing new unnecessary parts at the van.
Take note guys
