Roller Team (Fiat Ducato) 2005 camper - electrical issues

Hi all,

I have no power in my camper. It started where it looked like the leisure battery had failed, as I was getting no power when not plugged in but when plugged in then lights etc were working. Now, even plugged in, I have no power. Will I have no power unless I swap out the leisure battery? Would this be a fuse issue maybe?

thanks in advance

Hi,

just a quick thing on the electrical issues. It looks like it is the control panel that is completely dead, so no lights and no pump, even when plugged in. However, when plugged in a do have the fridge working on 240V. So if that helps troubleshooting?

Have you tripped your breakers.
Have you a phase tester or multi meter to see if you have power before and after the RSD.
You need to start were the power enters the van and work your way froward bit by bit, that way you will find your problem.

Underneath the passenger seat there will be an electroblok 99, beside it will be an 80a maxi fuse.
Check it first. It actually fuses the ground so you won't get a +ve voltage across it.
That age of a van should run that system..... but without knowing the full details its difficult to advise.

If it runs the CBE system it could be a myriad of things.

But with all those things eliminate the simple things first.

Hi.

thanks for replies so far.
So its a Roller Team Auto 2005 Ducato.

.
Hopefully this is the photo of the control panel. It doesnt light up.
Multimeter shows a good leisure battery. Electrics are fine. Here is the control panel unscrewed:

So thinking of taking off that board to see whats underneath, but apart from that, at a loss. Any idea from anyone if the control panel is just failed or how to proceed next? thanks all

Do you have a main fuse control box/panel? Is there a plug undone in said fuse panel?

Have you a fuse panel of about 8/10 fuses on the lefthand seat base. If so check for a small 6mm hole lower left of the fuses.
In the last few days in The Hub, a 06 Ducato M/H, arrived with no Gas or 12v but showing 12.8v. On the control panel over the door, (they had a step motor burn out on the way.) which a helpfull guy removed and snipped the wires.
Behind the 6mm hole mentioned above was a trip switch that can be activated by flicking it up /down with a small screwdriver. Magic everything worked, Stupid that there was/is, not a big sign saying Trip S/W.

That control panel has a control board, it'll be under the front seat, under the sofa area or in the wardrobe.
It's manufactured by an Itilian company called Nordelettronica and they are a real pain in the arse to sort if they go faulty.
They are a rare beast and not seen in many manufacturers, Rollerteam & CI are the only ones I've seen them fitted to.
The main board relays are controlled by an IC which is known to blow, Have had a few apart for repair in the past.
Replacement control boards/chargers etc are expensive for them.

But, that may not be the fault at all, you really need to check supply to the board (not the one shown, the main distribution board, that board only throws a latching relay to supply power, but via the IC) and use a schematic to trace the fault orign or have someone competent to diagnose & repair it.

If you need replacement components then the dealer in the UK is superb:
