Where can I find the Chassis marking on our 2008 Burstner Aviano i650. We can see the two plates with the weights but the tester wants to see the chassis marking. I have checked the manual and it said the internal wheelhouse on passengers side. We don't have cab doors. Only the one door behind the drivers seat. It is a right hand drive. We checked behind the panel on the passenger side but nothing there. Did anybody else have this issue. Thanks

I suggest, you could phone Southdowns Motor Center and ask them to direct you 0044 (0) 2392 674820

Have you got a locker in that area? Gas locker or similar? My plate, different make of MH has it in the gas locker it’s a rhd drive model but hab door on the right (continental hab door) gas locker just behind os front wheel. There’s a plastic removable cover (2 screws) concealing the chassis stamp.

Try a burstner owners group if no joy on here.

I’m unsure of country of origin but if it’s a European built van passenger side will mean drivers side as I found out on my French built Pilote when looking for the extra fuse box. The manual said in the furniture on the passenger side whilst in reality it was under the drivers seat.

Mine is a Merc A class, gas locker on the rhs behind the front wheel. You have to crawl into the rear of the wheel arch to see it behind the gas locker. some fiats are the same I've been told but they have an inspection cover to remove in the gas locker.

Is your van like this,?
Look down under the cup holders, or in the base at the front of thet compartment, behind the cup holder, often behind a plastis window cutout, you may need a mirror or take a photo of it with your phone.
Ducato chassis numbers are normally on the driver side in side
( RHD) behind a little plastic rectangle, where you would step into the van. Follow the line of the wheel arch on the Inside, it will be about 150mm up from the base of the chassis.
Jami, is correct if the gas locker is towards the front, there usually an inspection window on the right side, you would have to take the bottle out to find it.

Finally found the number. There was an outside grill underneath the drivers window and when we removed the cover there it was. We had been checking the passenger side as stated in the manual not realising that everything was the opposite way around. Thanks everyone for your help.

Siobhan, That's great well done. now if you know how to, post a photo of where it is on your van. by doing so you will add to the knowledge base of this Forum. and that's a great contribution from a new member.

How about some photo's of what I am presuming is your new van, and where did you source it etc.

This is a photo of where I found the chassis number. When I look at it now it seems very obvious. 🙃
