Their loss Jon and they are only leading to the ferry companies profits.
Now I do not expect any of them to even understand the content of this statement.
In a statement, Fáilte Ireland said its remit in relation to caravans and camping is centred on registration and grading.
There are currently 129 Fáilte Ireland approved caravan and camping sites throughout the country.
Fáilte Ireland said it met the County and City Management Association in February 2023 in relation to the provision of motorhome facilities in Ireland.
"This meeting was to help inform local authorities (via the CCMA) on how to address some of the issues around capacity and planning," Fáilte Ireland said
YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW,
BY ONLY GIVING CARAVAN PARKS PLANNING PERMISSION.
I read the article and I thought it was fairly rubbish. “Having” to was in a graveyard, boxxxcks. An American based in Germany who had travelled through France to Ireland who had either done no research, no forward planning or was perhaps too tight to use a paid facility.
Yes I agree there is a shortage of Aires here and a shortage of campsites especially for the short peak season. But she would have been charged €19 here including a shower, waste disposal, fresh water, and emptying facilities. Not the €35 to €50 quoted elsewhere in the article.
Whilst I agree with the lack of facilities there are far too many campervan and motorhome owners who feel they shouldn’t have to pay for anything. The type that will overnight in a free place and drive 50 miles to a free service point like Portumna and then carefully fold all their rubbish into small lots and fill every litter bin.
Or those that use a campsite once a week and get rid of a weeks worth of rubbish, fill every container with water and empty several 20 ltr containers of pee and poo. And then park in a lay-by again for free.

Can’t argue with your synopsis Jamie.
But, you stating the truth gets in the way of a good rag-top story
