Bringing pets home from France via land ridge after Brexit

In recent years I've travelled direct to Ireland from France with my dog. It's been very straight forward, I call with a vet in Pontorson, get the worming tablet, get checked in at a French port, get on the ferry, home in Ireland checked again by Irish official at the Irish port, and then I'm on my way home. What is the procedure going via England? Does the one treatment in France cover both Ferries? Is there a time limit driving through England?

For entry to the uk from France the tablet must me administered no less than 24 hours before you are scheduled to arrive in the uk, and not more than 120 hrs. Annoying, technically it is the same coming from GB to ROI.

So it does give much time to stay in GB unless you get the dog re wormed.

Although I heard today from a close friend her pet’s paperwork was not checked when leaving GB or arriving in ROI.

We have been doing the landbridge with the furbies before and after Brexit, the main thing is to ensure you have a NI/EU pet passport and not just a NI or GB/UK version, our vet amended ours with a sticker and a stamp inside with signature all FOC. The tablet gives a window of 5 days to cross.

The pets get checked at the port in France and nothing going into ROI, well not via the Dublin/Holyhead route or the Cairnryan/Belfast route.

I just found out Stena are starting another ferry ( Stena Vision) on the Cherbourg / Rosslare route. I got booked on the Saturday sailing from Cherbourg. On this boat, you aren't allowed to keep your dog in the car/motor home, so you have a choice of kennel or pet friendly cabin. There are quite a choice of cabins, we have booked a 4 berth with window, pre-booked 2 buffet dinners a two buffet breakfasts, total cost came to £621. I thought that wasn't too bad, considering the cost Brittany Ferries are charging.

We are going out on the Vision boat on 6 of September. Pet friendly cabin. I don’t pre book meals though.
