Hi Guys,

Any suggestions as to the best commonly available thetford replacement product that can be used in the toilet ?

More specifically a substitute for https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thetf…B0777MG8B3 that can be found in either Supervalu or Aldi as these are the stores close to me (anything else is a 30+ min drive)

Thanks Paul.

I haven't used Thetford products for years. I use the Bio washing capsules from Lidl and they do a great job. When you empty the cassette you'll see how clean it is inside. Also you'll save money.

I use bio washing tabs,
last time i ran out persil bio powder was bought and is doing a great job,

Have not used thetford in years

With powder use a half cup per empty or even on hot days if you dont empty every day use half cup extra and its spot on

Can these be used where the green liquid is only allowed. I use the green liquid from Aldi €10 for 2 litres.

Fit a SOG system, easy to do and then no more chemicals.

It's Aldi's equivalent to the Thethfords Blue or Green toilet fluids

Yes we use the green (some campsites have septic tanks)Aldi version of the camping toilet liquid, not always available so buy a few. If camping week andavailable we buy the caravan cleaning liquid detergent for washing the MH.
In our early days with MH we used the bio washing tablets but comments said not to , it doesn’t breakdown the 💩. Also use 2ply toilet paper.

Amazon Germany has stocks of biodegradable septic tank friendly green sachets from Tethfords. And no taxes for ROI customers.

Actually guys, what is the reason you use the "green stuff" for ?

Does it work for the smell ? Put a capsule in after last toilet cassette and suspect it's not the best. Just threw in a bit of

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thetf…B0777MG8B3

and will see if the smell improves.

I'm looking for a commonly available alternative that helps with both the break down and smell

Simple really, green is suitable for septictanks, blue it'll kill the bacteria that makes the septic
tank work.
Dishwasher and Washing machine tabs will also KILL SEPTIC TANKS,
We only use household products that are Eco friendly and state that they are, suitable in our septic tank, costs a bit more but still working properly after 25 years,
Look at the labelng, if it causes skin and series eye irritation, and is harmful to Aquatic life, don't use it, please especially if you're goi g to dump in someone else's facility.
I would say don't skimp on Toilet fluid for the sake of the price of a couple of pints.
There will come a time when sites out in the country, will insist you arrive with an empty tank and then they will supply you with Green tabs or measured green liquid.

I see it is camping offers this Thursday in Aldi (15 June) but only blue toilet or pink bowl wash 2litre containers.
Do they not realise more and more places want you to use only the green as their location has septic tanks.
Earlier I mentioned we had used capsules/tablets but we were using Bloo etc, tablets that you can use in toilet cisterns at home.
But I think it was the washing machines ones that have been mentioned.
After 5 weeks away we have run out, and we will be putting in a Fairy washing machine capsule for last few days.
