I'm sort of/maybe/thinking/possibly/maybe not/madness/feck it/why not? about an early seventies fully restored VW T2 bay window camper.
Any owners out there... advice appreciated!

Not for me. Cats don't like being swung, but when they do it's usually not off a wall 😁

They are lovely, I love the idea of them, but for me that's as far as it goes. But each to their own. 😁

Lovely idea til you wake up in the night and it’s cold wet and windy and the toilet block is the other side of the campsite.

My thoughts exactly, and worse if you don't get into a campsite

Lovely van and great to drive, I had a minibus version back in the '70s that I started to convert into a camper but that's another story. I'd love to have one as a day van but unless you want to keep your travels to summer and campsites I'd forget it. Cold, condensation, make up the bed anytime you want to lie down, no room to even change your mind. Nah, not for me. The next day it's lashing rain go out and sit in your car for a few hours and see how you like it.

I'm actually thinking of it more as a day van, but all comments taken on board.
Of course I'll highlight the positive ones and completely ignore the rest...🙉

ive owned one...never again. Size really does matter!...also thirsty, drafty expensive to run (even if 'fully restored'. Mine was a right PIA in the end. Ive nothing against VW (ive had beetle, and 2 early bays over the years), but I have a modern crafter now. I just don't think the asking price for them is worth it for me, and you are paying to 'join the dub club'...

Tony, I drove to Athens in one and would I do it again, that's a big Yes. Just buy a porta potti and put a few mod cons in.
